Welcome to Good Companion, a business offering practical support and companionship to the older generation in Warwickshire and Cheshire.

Good Companion is all about making a difference. Making a difference to the older person and also to their families.

Recent studies by Age UK have shown that over half a million people in the UK over the age of 75 years regularly spend a whole week without talking to anyone.

Loneliness is the largest concern in the older generation, yet much can be done to alleviate the feelings of isolation.

Nowadays many families live far from their older loved ones and have busy lives with work commitments and young children. Often this means that they can’t always be there when they want to be to help the older generation.

Good Companion gives peace of mind to the older generation knowing that there is someone there to help them and to the younger generation that they have a professional and caring person looking out for their loved ones.

Sarah Pagan

Sarah is passionate about making a difference to the lives of the elderly. She has volunteered as a Befriender with Age UK for a number of years and has seen first hand the positive effects of spending time, having a broad pair of shoulders and a good listening ear has on the older generation. She has also seen the effects of illness, loss and financial difficulties and recognises that bringing in some extra help with the older members of the family can reduce some of the stress in these situations.

Sarah's working background is in event and project management, PA and administrative work and recruitment. She is based in Leamington Spa, married to Mike and has three teenage children and guide dog brood, Mini.

Paula Jones

Paula lives in Stockton Heath near Warrington with her family and has long-been a passionate supporter of the ‘silver’ generation as she recognises the impact that positive engagement with her elders brings to her own life, as well as what it gives back.

Understanding the need to support families who may be distanced, and being acutely aware of the impact of loss and illness on all parts of a family, guiding and supporting clients through difficult times allows Paula to offer her pragmatic, kind and gentle approach to making life easier, all round.

Having a professional background in project management and executive assistance and also having been a holistic therapist for many years, empathy is key in Paula’s attitude to her work as Good Companion Cheshire.

Always practical.

Always kind.
